Deyang enjoys rich natural resources: there are some 30 kinds of prospected minerals, among which the reserve of phosphate ore is above 30 billion tons, making Deyang one of the 7 national production bases for phosphorus, and enabling Deyang to export high-purity yellow phosphorus to some dozens of countries; the reserve of limestone exceeds 5 billion tons; the prospected reserve of shallow-layer natural gas is well above 130 billion cubic meters, with the volume under control exceeding 300 billion cubic meters holding extremely broad prospect for exploitation.
The power in Deyang comes from the national grid, enabling it to afford a sufficient supply to both urban and rural areas. Within its territory, there is large amount of mineral water in store, and most of its farmland is irrigated by the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a several-thousand-year old system lying in the west of the Plain.
